Chapter 1
I was pushed off the rooftop by the notorious school bully, Wilson Turner, and his girlfriend, Martha Nash, leaving me in a coma.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself lying in Wilson's luxurious bed, only to realize I was in his body.
Meanwhile, he was the one stuck in the hospital bed, never to wake up.
I stared at Wilson's handsome yet infuriating face in the mirror and gave a mocking smile.
The next day, I walked into school with Wilson's face, rocking a princess dress and high heels.
His buddies stared at me like I was a freak.
*****
"Wilson, are you fucking crazy?" His friend, Stefan Sutton, shouted, his voice booming like thunder.
I looked down at the pink lace princess dress I was wearing and lifted my foot to check out the four-inch silver heels.
"I think it looks great," I said.
My voice was low and smooth. It was the sound I'd despised my whole life.
Stefan and the rest of Wilson's crew looked like they'd seen a ghost.
"Wilson, don't scare me, man. Did you get possessed?" Stefan blurted out.
"You were normal yesterday, weren't you?" another guy chimed in.
With Wilson's hand, I reached up and touched his face.
That face, so handsome, so cocky, used to be my nightmares.
But now, it was mine.
I flashed them a sweet smile. "I'm not crazy. I'm doing great.
"I figured things out.
"Guys can be princesses too, you know."
With that, I grabbed the hem of my dress and strutted past their stunned bodies, the click-clack of my heels echoing as I made my way to class.
Behind me, the silence was deafening.
Then, they burst out laughing, unable to hold it back.
"Holy shit! Wilson's wearing a dress," someone shouted.
"Did something mess him up? Is he nuts or what?" another guy yelled.
"Get your phones out. This is the drama of the year," someone shouted.
I could already picture the shitstorm about to explode on the school's online forum.
That was exactly what I wanted.
Wilson was always obsessed with his precious reputation, brotherhood, and that unbeatable king-of-the-school image.
And I was going to tear it all down myself.
I, Ronald Pierce, was back.
And I was back in a way that people never saw coming.
I pushed open the classroom door and headed straight for Wilson's seat, the boldest corner in the whole room.
Martha, Wilson's girlfriend and the accomplice who helped shove me off the rooftop, was sitting right there.
When she saw me, the mirror in her hand dropped to the floor with a loud clatter.
"Wilson? You..." Martha stammered, her voice shaky.
I walked up to her, bent down, and with Wilson's body, struck what I thought was my most elegant pose as I picked up the mirror from the floor.
"Martha, did I scare you?" I asked, my voice soft and sweet.
I purposely softened my tone, mimicking the way Wilson used to sweet-talk her.
Her face changed dramatically. Martha jumped to her feet and grabbed for my arm.
"What the hell are you doing? Come with me and change out of that, now!" she snapped.
I slipped away from her hand with a smooth move.
"Nope," I replied, my tone cool and unbothered.
I held up the little mirror, admiring Wilson's face in the reflection, taking my time to appreciate every detail.
"I think I look pretty," I said, a playful smile tugging at my lips. "Don't you think so?"
I turned the mirror toward her.
She looked from her reflection to me, her terror spilling out of her eyes.
"You're not Wilson!" Martha shrieked. "Who the hell are you?"
The gossip in the room was off the charts. Everyone was dying to know what was going on.
I smiled.
With Wilson's face, I flashed an innocent yet wicked smile. "Of course, I'm Wilson, the all-new Wilson."
I handed the mirror back to her, turned around, and slid into Wilson's seat.
From Wilson's backpack, I pulled out an entire makeup kit.
Right in front of everyone, I popped open a tube of bright red lipstick and started applying it in the mirror.
Martha was standing there, visibly trembling.
I knew everything she believed in was crumbling right before her eyes.
And my revenge was getting started.
It was gym class in the afternoon.
Out on the basketball court, Wilson's crew was shooting me weird looks.
"Wilson, you're really not playing?" Stefan asked, not letting it go.
I was sitting under a tree, carefully guarding my new manicure.
"Basketball's way too rough for me," I said, raising my hand and blowing on my nails.
"It'll ruin my nails," I said.
Stefan looked like he'd swallowed a fly.
"But you used to love playing basketball," he blurted out.
"That was then, and this is now," I replied.
I shot Stefan a glance, batting Wilson's wild eyes at him with a mix of coyness and teasing.
"I'm a princess now, okay?" I said, putting on my sweetest, most dramatic voice.
The guy next to us couldn't take it and literally retched right there.
I grinned to myself, satisfied as Stefan's face went bright red.
The basketball game kicked off.
Without Wilson, their star player, their team got wrecked.
