Karen stared at the dagger by his feet, his fingers digging desperately into the dirt.

He tilted his head up, his lips trembling. "Rachel, do not push me too far."

I raised my boot and slammed it down onto the hilt of the dagger, grinding the tip of my shoe hard against the back of his hand. He let out a muffled groan of agony, beads of cold sweat breaking out across his forehead.

The crowd below erupted into jeers and mocking laughter.
