I didn't push the topic further. Instead, I said, "Cason, I've had my eye on a bag lately. It's not expensive, just ten thousand dollars.

"You've been working for so long and haven't given me any gifts. Since you're going abroad, could you buy it for me?"

Cason's voice immediately turned sharp. "Edith, why are you so materialistic? Ten thousand for a bag isn't expensive, huh?

"I've told you we're saving for our future happiness. How did you turn into such a gold-digger?"

Cason just called me a gold-digger. Seriously?
