Chapter 6
I was speechless.
He sure knew how to run his mouth, but honestly, he wasn't wrong.
I shot him down right away. "No way, you'll totally mess with my flow. I won't even dare to write the spicy stuff with you watching."
"Spicy stuff? Please, forget it, you're basically piloting a battleship with your writing," he teased.
I rolled my eyes.
Declan whined, "I want to read it. Fine, I'll just pay for VIP. 100 a month."
I blinked at him. "How much?"
Declan scratched his head. "Well, how about 150?"
I stared at him in disbelief.
"Are you kidding me?" I shot back.
Declan said, "250?"
What did he take me for? Did he really think I was that easy to buy off? It was unbelievable.
"Deal," I snapped.
Meanwhile, Declan said, "Three—"
The moment I realized what he was about to say, I instantly regretted it so much that I wanted to bang my head against the wall.
Declan just grinned, grabbed a piece of roast turkey, and tossed it into my plate. "You really know how to save me some cash, huh?"
Declan became my personal sponsor, and I started dropping three chapters every week.
Once I finished writing, I'd just send it over to him.
I only started writing to blow off steam. I never thought I'd actually get paid for it in such a bizarre way.
But Declan shot down my offer to send it over WhatsApp, saying, "It's not safe to send documents online."
So, I had no choice but to show it to him in person.
After that, Declan and I started meeting up for meals all the time. My roommates even started suspecting I was secretly dating someone and not telling them.
Dating? Please, I was out here making bank.
Honestly, Declan totally got what I liked. He always picked restaurants I loved.
He was always looking out for me, pouring water, handing me tissues, and just taking care of everything.
He had been growing on me so much lately that even in my recent steamy chapters, the main couple's relationship had made real progress. They had started getting intimate and making love in a sweet, gentle way.
That night, I got a tip from my patron.
Declan: [Good work deserves a reward.]
He tipped me 200.
I replied: [Thanks for your generous reward.]
I sent a cute sticker.
Just as I was about to put my phone down and get back to writing, my phone buzzed.
Declan replied with a sticker.
*****
I nearly had a nosebleed.
Who taught him to make stickers like this?
It was a custom-made sticker.
Declan was shirtless, rocking an adorable cat filter. He raised his paw and gave a playful wave, while the cat ears on his head bounced along with his movements.
His normally delicate skin looked almost pinkish under the filter.
Oh my god, seriously, who taught him to make stickers like this?
That was so amazing.
While I was clutching my head and silently freaking out, I accidentally tapped the screen and sent a meme by mistake.
I sent a sticker that was about to lick with its tongue.
Before I could even delete it, he shot back a reply instantly.
It was another one of Declan's homemade stickers. This time, he had the cat filter on, cheeks blushing bright red, and that shy little face was so ridiculously cute it almost killed me.
I was totally stunned.
Honestly, I swore I didn't mean it like that. Would he even believe me?
I replied: [Good work deserves a reward.]
He sent you 300.
That was amazing.
