Chapter 4
Hmph, at least, he got the sense to wait for me.
Once the coast was clear, I stormed right into the classroom and confronted Declan head-on.
Declan's face went beet red as he hugged his laptop to his chest, blurting out before I could even open my mouth.
"W-Why are you still chasing me? You know you can't force someone to like you. I'm not going to let you have your way with me," he stammered.
He looked like he was being forced into it.
I was so pissed that I snatched his laptop right out of his arms.
"Drop the act. You were the one who hacked my laptop first, and now you're making me look like the perv here," I snapped.
Declan ditched the damsel routine, pushed up his glasses with a sly grin, looking all smug.
"Seriously? Who writes spicy stories about a guy, and makes them so steamy?" he teased.
I slapped my hand over his mouth. "Shut up."
"Plenty of people write stuff like that. It's not just me. And I never even shared them with anyone," I shot back.
Life had been so bland lately. I needed to let off some steam.
Declan cracked up, "Oh, so you really do have a thing for me, huh? Daydreaming about me every single day. 187 chapters, and you keep cranking out new ones week after week.
"Would the literary association ever guess their innocent little VP is secretly writing spicy stuff like this?"
Just as I was about to say something, some classmates started coming in.
As soon as they spotted Declan, they started whispering and giggling.
Declan was basically a campus celebrity. Any girl who got close to him would instantly become the center of gossip, with everyone trying to dig up dirt.
I was so caught up in my emotions that I came looking for him without even thinking about all that drama.
I started to panic. I really didn't want to end up as everyone's latest hot topic.
Suddenly, a baseball cap was pulled down over my head, hiding my face from view.
Declan bent down, his voice low and sly in my ear. "Come grab lunch with me, Bella. You wouldn't want anyone finding out about those stories you write, would you?"
That was when I realized Declan was just putting on an act, deliberately provoking me so I'd come looking for him.
I shot him a fierce glare and strode off in front.
Declan was such an asshole.
I kept walking ahead, with Declan following behind, always keeping a couple of steps between us.
Declan looked way too happy and even started humming to himself.
Suddenly, I stopped short, and his broad, muscular chest crashed right into the back of my head.
The hit bounced me forward, and I nearly tripped over myself.
If he hadn't grabbed my shoulder just in time, I would've totally faceplanted.
Once I got my balance back, I socked him in the chest out of pure spite.
"Why did you build such a muscular physique?" I grumbled.
He clutched his chest dramatically, letting out a loud "Ouch".
"So now it's my fault for having a muscular physique? Come on, you were obsessed with it. Didn't you go wild for it in chapter one?" Declan shot back.
He smirked, looking way too pleased with himself.
Declan was seriously impossible.
Back when we used to gossip about Declan in the dorm, Hazel and the girls always said he was cold and aloof, practically celibate, the ultimate forbidden campus god.
I jumped in right away, "Come on, guys, those types are always quietly kinky. Bet he's got a whole secret side."
And honestly, I was totally right.
Declan wasn't just quietly kinky; he was such a shameless troll.
