Chapter 1
Rachel Lane: [Looking for someone over six feet tall, with eight-pack abs, good looks, at least three million in assets, and no bad habits]
I was afraid Rachel'd do something she'd regret for the rest of her life, so I quickly grabbed her phone, deleted the post, and gave her a crash course on why getting pregnant in college was a terrible idea.
After thinking it over, Rachel finally gave in and listened to me.
But just a month later, one of our classmates got pregnant. She married into a wealthy family and even scored a multi-million dollar baby bonus from her in-laws.
Rachel was so jealous that she lost her mind. She burst into the dorm and shrieked at me, "If it weren't for you, I'd be living the high life as a rich man's wife! You owe me my whole life!"
With that, she went berserk and stabbed me over and over until I was dead.
The next time I opened my eyes, I found myself back on the day Rachel launched her wild campaign to recruit a baby daddy.

A loud bang jolted me back to reality. I glanced around. This was my dorm room, my first week of college. The noise came from Rachel's bed, right next to mine.
In a fit of frustration, Rachel flung her pillow across the small room. It knocked over my water bottle on the desk, sending cold water spilling all over the floor.
"Ugh, this is such a scam!" she groaned. "Why do we have to drag ourselves out of bed for an 8 AM class? Everyone said college would be all about freedom. I killed myself to get in here. For what?"
As Rachel ranted, my other two roommates exchanged glances. Lily Green, always quick with a joke, piped up, "Hey, you could always get pregnant. Pregnant students get all kinds of perks. No morning classes, no questions asked."
The moment Lily said that, a chill ran down my spine. It was the exact same scene as before. Last time, Rachel took Lily's advice and immediately posted on the campus forum, looking for someone to get her pregnant.
That post went viral within hours. When I saw it, I begged Rachel to take it down. I told her that getting pregnant in college meant brutal morning sickness, endless complications, and a whole lot of misery. And raising a baby wasn't a fantasy.
After thinking it over for ages, Rachel finally decided to listen to me.
But then, some other girl copied her idea, landed a rich heir, and hit the jackpot. That girl married straight into a wealthy family.
When Rachel found out, she stormed into our dorm with a knife and stabbed me over thirty times. Every stab was aimed to kill.
She screamed the whole time, "This is all your fault! You kept saying getting pregnant young was a bad idea, and now you've ruined my shot at marrying rich! Bitch!"
I bled out right there on the dorm floor.
What was even more tragic was that Rachel was diagnosed with a mental illness and walked away without the death penalty. I died for nothing. Just wasted.
Now that fate had given me a second chance, I swore I'd never be that stupid again. No more playing hero. This time, I'd drop my savior complex and respect everyone's own choices.

"Camila, what do you think?" Rachel asked. She fixed her gaze on me, looking like she expected me to have all the answers.
I was the smartest one in our dorm. Rachel always came to me whenever she needed advice.
Last time, Rachel asked me the same thing, and I shot her down, telling her it was a terrible idea. But she wasn't about to give up. After Lily kept working on her, Rachel secretly made the post.
This time, I just gave her a faint smile. "Honestly, having a baby early is pretty great. You'll recover quickly, and by the time you graduate, your kid will be in kindergarten. Makes things a lot easier for you."
Rachel froze for a second. After all, everyone saw me as the straight-laced one.
But now Rachel looked torn, not sure how to respond. "But having a baby hurts, right? And if I do it, who's going to watch the kid while I'm in class?" she asked.
I felt a jolt inside when I heard that.
So Rachel actually knew about the dangers of getting pregnant young. She was just trying to make me look like the villain.
No way was I going to let Rachel have her way. Instead, I started egging her on. "If you land yourself a rich guy, would you even need to worry about any of that?"
Rachel fell silent, thinking it over, and then finally nodded.
The perks of being a wealthy wife were just too irresistible. This time, I wasn't going to interfere. If she messed up, she'd have no one to blame but herself.
Almost instantly, Rachel put up her post looking for a baby daddy on the campus forum, then gave me a smug grin.
"Camila, you should go get yourself a rich guy, too. Seriously, what's the point of all that studying? Marrying rich is way better than acing some test," she said.
Rachel sounded like she'd already made it as some millionaire's wife.
I still couldn't figure out why Rachel had it out for me. Even when I wasn't interfering this time, she kept picking fights and making snide remarks at every turn.
But honestly, someone like Rachel, a toxic type who would drag others down, was best avoided.
I kept my head down, reading my book, and replied in a flat tone, "I'll pass."
Rachel watched her post blow up and then snorted dismissively at me. "Miss Perfect, bookworm. This is all you'll ever be."
