The next morning, when I got up, James had already left for work.

There was a note from him sitting on the dining table. [Breakfast is in the warming box. Don't forget to eat.]

His handwriting was kind of messy, but oddly enough, it made me feel warm inside.

After breakfast, I grabbed a cab and headed to the office.

As soon as I got to the office, the manager called me into her office.

"Kylie, we've got a team-building event next week. I want you to take charge of it," she said.
