At least the surgery this afternoon went off without a hitch.

It was seven by the time I got home.

Standing outside, I could hear the sound of laughter drifting from inside. Unbothered, I pulled out my keys and let myself in.

Suddenly, it was dead quiet.

Helen shot me a look while her brows knitted in annoyance.

She snorted, "So you finally think about coming home, huh? Can't even handle a single chore without sulking. Running out all day. How idle you are. Hurry up and—"
