I kept backing up, and Maynard kept moving closer. Before I knew it, my back was against the wall.

His clean scent was all around me. Maybe that was what triggered it—I started thinking about those pictures again.

I stared at his white shirt and couldn't help wondering what it felt like underneath.

Before I could stop myself, I reached out and gently poked his chest.

I heard him suck in a sharp breath—and that snapped me out of it. My face lit up with heat. "I'll finish the paper and give it to you soon."
