Chapter 1
After catching Flora Harper, Luke Scott's adopted sister, wearing Abby's dress and masturbating on their bed for the third time, Abby Becker finally asked Luke for a divorce.
"That's it? Abby, you're a doctor. You should understand that sex is a basic human need, and Flora's an adult," Luke said.
He just shot Abby an annoyed frown, as if he couldn't believe she was making a fuss over something so trivial.
Abby was utterly stunned. Her lips trembled uncontrollably as she stared at him in disbelief.
"Luke, she was wearing my nightgown on our bed, calling out your name! Do you really think I'm a fool?" Abby shouted.
"This isn't the first time. I've caught her three times already, and who knows how many times I haven't seen? She's your adopted sister, not your biological sister!" Abby fired back.
Abby felt drained, as though she'd spent her last bit of strength saying those words. Her hand, clutching the divorce papers, trembled with frustration and heartbreak.
She closed her eyes, her voice raw. "Let me make this clear. This family has no place for both of us. It's either her or me."
Luke fixed his gaze on the divorce papers for a moment, then gently pulled Abby into his arms.

"Can we stop this, please? If you really can't stand Flora, I'll tell her to move out. But I never want to hear 'divorce' from you again," he said, his tone soft but firm.
Then, without warning, Luke grabbed Abby by the chin and pressed a fierce kiss to her lips.
After the kiss, Abby caught the shimmer of tears in his eyes. She couldn't help but waver inside, her heart softening as she nodded and quietly agreed, "Okay."
But after two weeks, Flora was still living under their roof, and to Abby's shock, she found a pair of women's panties in Luke's jacket pocket.
Abby's face went pale like a ghost. She knew right away that they were exactly Flora's style.
Her breathing turned shaky. She snatched up her phone and kept calling Luke, but he didn't answer even once.
Not even stopping to think, Abby grabbed her car keys and took off into the rain, heading straight to the club where Luke was holding his party.
But the instant Abby slid the door open just a crack, she stopped dead in her tracks.
There wasn't a hint of music in the room, just Flora's playful voice echoing in the quiet, grabbing everyone's attention.
"My first time? Oh, Luke took it, right in the school office. Wild enough for you guys, huh? Come on, cheers!" Flora said, grinning wickedly.
As soon as she dropped that bombshell, the room broke out in teasing laughter.
"Seriously, that's not even a secret! Everybody knows the Scott family basically raised you as Luke's future wife. We were all there when it happened, so it doesn't count as news," someone snorted.
That phrase of "his future wife" froze Abby in place. Her feet felt glued to the ground.
"For real, in old times, you'd have been his chambermaid since you were little, waiting to move up. If you announced you'd scored the top spot someday, none of us would be surprised," someone else joked.
"Man, just thinking about it bugs me. I always figured you two would end up married for sure. But Abby just dropped in out of nowhere and flipped everything upside down," one of the guys said, rolling his eyes.
When they mentioned Abby, Flora's gaze briefly clouded with something dark.
Just as she was about to say something more, Luke walked out of the bathroom.
He was leisurely drying his hands, his face unreadable.
"I'm married to Abby, and I've always treated Flora like a sister. And I don't want to hear anything about this 'future wife' stuff ever again, especially around Abby," Luke said, his voice low and serious.
Seeing how serious he was, his buddies couldn't help but laugh.
"Luke, come on, you don't have to put on an act with us. You married Abby for her inheritance, right? So why are you suddenly playing the protective husband now?" one of them teased.
"Yeah, Luke, you told us you'd divorce her after you got your hands on that one billion dollars. You can't just take Flora's virginity and then walk away," another chimed in.
Luke's eyes darkened. "That was just an accident. Even if Flora's only my adopted sister, I'll always look out for her, no matter what."
Everyone let out a knowing "oh," before somebody suddenly yanked Flora and tossed her right into Luke's arms.
"You guys are already so close, so what's a little kiss?" someone jeered.
Flora lost her balance, her lips brushing the corner of Luke's mouth, and the whole room exploded in shrieks and laughter.
The music blasted back on, and as Abby shut the door, she felt herself falling into an icy pit.
She realized she didn't need any explanation from Luke anymore.
Abby's ears rang with the echoes of that word—"future wife." It wouldn't stop pounding in her head.
At that moment, everything made sense. It all came crashing together, every puzzle piece falling into place.
Why had the Scott family always kept Flora at arm's length? Why did Flora still live with Luke, even after he got married?
It was all because Flora was never the Scott family's adopted daughter, but she was always meant to be Luke's future bride.
They'd been secretly tangled up for years, probably since forever. God only knew how many times they'd hooked up on that very bed at home.
Just picturing it made Abby sick to her stomach. She tore off to the bathroom, puking until her eyes burned with tears.
Luke always claimed he only saw Flora as his little sister, but when she kissed him just now, he didn't even flinch a bit. If anything, he pulled her closer.
When replaying that moment in her mind, Abby couldn't stop her heart from aching all over again.
Abby raised her head in total disarray and spotted the ring sitting on her finger.
She stared at it and suddenly let out a harsh laugh, like the sparkle was straight-up mocking her.
No wonder Luke didn't want a divorce. It turned out he was just after that huge inheritance.
He still hadn't snagged her fortune, so there was no way he'd just let her walk away.
What a joke! She'd actually thought he loved her too much to ever leave.
Abby remembered that the pink diamond ring was a one-of-a-kind treasure, never intended to be sold. Luke had trekked across countries, chasing down private collectors and finally shelling out a fortune just to place it on her finger.
But then, all she could see was something she despised. Eyes squeezed shut as tears raced down her cheeks, and Abby ripped off the ring and tossed it straight into the trash.
If Luke's love had been a scam from the very beginning, then Abby didn't want anything to do with it anymore.
Abby stared at her reflection, her eyes puffy and streaked with tears. She splashed cold water on her face, took a steadying breath, and turned to leave.
But before she could take a step, someone caught her by the wrist and pinned her against the wall.
