"Nora, you're back." I pulled my heavy suitcase across the threshold and froze dead in the entryway. Sitting on my living room sofa was a strange woman, cradling an infant in her arms. Right beside her, a crib held another newborn. They were tins. A boy and a girl. Deep inside my luggage was an expensive imported watch I had bought for my husband, Mark Carter. I'm Sophie Lane." My gaze drifted down to the necklace gleaming against her collarbone—it looked painfully, sickeningly familiar. Click. The front door swung open. Mark stood frozen in the doorway holding a bag of fresh groceries, the color completely draining from his face. "Nora? How are you... didn't you say you weren't coming back until tomorrow?" I looked at him in chilling silence.
