Chapter 5

Before Owen could reach my phone, two event staff members stepped between us.

Someone stopped Sabine as well. By then, everyone seemed determined to hear what else the two of them had done.

"Turn it off!" Owen shouted toward the sound booth.

No one moved.

Sabine's voice continued pouring from the speakers.

"Bring up her mother. The moment someone calls her emotionally unstable, she loses control. Once she starts shouting, don't argue with her. Just sit there and let the audience decide which one of you is the victim."

Owen's voice came next.

"What if she realizes I'm recording her?"
