Chapter 1
After working myself to exhaustion, I discovered I could read the minds of everyday objects.
The bed muttered, "Ugh, I feel dirty now. Mason fooled around with the fifty-year-old cleaning lady on top of me while Molly was out working. It was so disturbing."
The shattered plant pot complained, "They fought so hard that they knocked me off the table and smashed me to pieces.
"I'm Molly's carefully chosen plant. How could they treat me like this?"
I smacked myself a couple of times, but realized this was real, not just some crazy dream.
Before I could process the shock of my husband, Mason Pearson, cheating on me with the cleaning lady, Sophia Vasquez, my debt collector was blowing up my phone for payment.
Hit rock bottom in both love and work, I was so miserable that I couldn't even shed a tear.
The debt collector's shirt piped up, "Why doesn't she just use her husband to pay off the debt? My owner has a thing for him.
"He spent two hours this morning just staring at Mason's photo. He'd definitely be worth a good price."
I blinked, thinking that might work.
But the debt collector was a guy.
Moreover, he was an old guy.

A shrill, genderless voice cried out, "I'm filthy. So dirty.
"Mason and that fifty-year-old cleaning lady were messing around on top of me today. My eyes can't take it."
My brain, foggy from days of sleepless work, snapped awake thanks to the bed's shrill complaints.
The plant pot said, "They were fighting like crazy. I was chilling at the table, and then Mason shoved me right off.
"Now I'm shattered all over the place. It hurts so bad. I'm the plant Molly picked out with so much care. How could they do this to me?"
I turned my head.
There were broken pieces scattered under the table. It was the plant I'd cared for every day for three months.
I crouched down and picked up a shard. The plant pot started wailing, "I'm about to end up in the trash, and the jerk who killed me is still out there having a good time. Molly, snap out of it and avenge me!"
I gave myself a few sharp slaps.
It hurt.
This was real, not just some crazy dream.
I was dumbfounded.
I wondered if I had heard it right. My well-mannered husband, Mason, had a thing for older women.
And while I was out busting my ass to pay off our debts, he was hooking up with a fifty-something cleaning lady.
With news this wild, my first reaction wasn't anger. It was just pure absurdity. It was so ridiculous that I couldn't even get mad.
I thought this was a joke.
I guessed I accidentally ate something wrong, and I was hallucinating.
Seriously, objects were talking to me. This world was nuts. I must be losing my mind.
I tried to stay calm, grabbed my phone, and was about to text a friend to drive me to the hospital.
Suddenly, my vision went dark.
After three days of nonstop work, my body couldn't take it anymore.
I clutched my aching chest and stumbled to the bed, planning to crash for a solid sleep and deal with everything else the next day.
Otherwise, the neighbors would be talking about how some poor lady just died right here.
The bed shouted, "No! Don't lie on me. Mason and the cleaning lady messed around and didn't even bother to change the sheets.
"There's a pair of pants wedged in the bed. I'm filthy, Molly. Back up. Stay away!"
The bed's desperate scream pierced my eardrums.
My eyes flew open, and the disgust hit me like a swarm of cockroaches crawling down my throat. Any trace of sleepiness was gone.
I scrambled away from the bed. To check if the bed was telling the truth, I slipped on the rubber gloves and started rummaging through the cracks. Sure enough, I pulled out some weird black thing.
It was like my whole world just collapsed.
I couldn't believe Mason would even dare do this to me.
Mason and I were both orphans, growing up side by side, relying on each other for everything.
I wasn't the smartest in school, but he was a real genius. After thinking it over, I made the tough call to drop out and work my butt off so he could keep studying.
Finally, after all those years, he graduated from a top university. I was always on edge, worried he'd leave me behind.
But Mason surprised me. Right there at his graduation, he got down on one knee and proposed to me.
We were inseparable for years, and I truly believed he was the one I'd spend my whole life with.
Two months ago, he said he wanted to start his own business and needed some capital. I gritted my teeth and borrowed 150 thousand for him.
However, while I was busting my ass to support the family, he was sneaking around behind my back with that cleaning lady, Sophia.
And to make it even worse, Sophia was the cleaning lady I brought in myself.
My blood was boiling. I clenched my jaw so hard that I thought my teeth might crack. I took a deep breath, barely holding back my anger.
Even though I was dying to get revenge on that scumbag right then and there, my body was way too wrecked to do anything.
I gave myself a pep talk, stubbornly squeezed my eyes shut, and crashed on the couch, trying to catch some sleep even though I was still fuming inside.
After crashing for a couple of days straight, I finally felt better.
On the fourth morning, the shrill ring of my phone jolted me awake.
