Chapter 5

When Emily came looking for her, Lillian wasn't the least bit surprised.

It was one afternoon, right after Lillian had wrapped up a meeting. The receptionist said someone was waiting for her.

When Lillian stepped out, there was Emily, dressed to the nines, every detail flawless, with a smile that was polite but not too friendly. "Ms. Turner, mind if we have a chat?"

Lillian shot her a look. "About what?"

"It's about Jason," Emily said.

Lillian gave a small, dismissive smile. "He's got nothing to do with me anymore. If you want to talk, go talk to him instead."
