Chapter 3

I looked at Lily.

She had that same smile she wore when she first started here three years ago.

Back then, that smile meant, "Thanks for helping, Jessica." Now, it meant, "You'd better keep your mouth shut."

"Don't worry, Ms. Hayes," I said. "I'll say what I need to, and keep quiet about the rest."

Her smile faltered for a split second, then she quickly put it back on. "Good. If you need anything, just let me know."

She walked away.

I continued packing up my stuff.

About twenty minutes later, Daniel showed up.

"Jessica, just sign the handover form,"…
