After hanging up, I opened the parent group chat and casually scrolled through the messages.

Sure enough, Carly had posted a long rant with several crying emojis. [Hello, everyone. I really feel wronged. My family isn't well-off, and my kid Mark gets envious when he sees his classmate Lily with better food.

[I thought giving 3 dollars a day would let her share a bit, so Mark wouldn't feel like he's mooching. But then Mrs. Dawson said that about me in front of everyone.
