Chapter 3
Most of the fans, including Aaron, thought I'd turn it down out of shyness.
But I hit accept in a heartbeat.
Shame does not exist in my book, especially if it won't help me get my dream guy.
The host grinned excitedly and deliberately read out my username. "Aaron's Wife, what's your wish?"
As soon as the camera turned on, our eyes met.
I caught a flash of surprise in his eyes, so quick you'd miss it if you blinked.
"Aaron," I said, resting my chin in my hands and turning on the charm, "Can I get a kiss?"
With everyone watching, Aaron replied calmly, "No."
The chat blew up.
A comment stood out, [Damn, how can someone be this ballsy?]
I asked, "Can I come over and check out your abs?"
Aaron replied, deadpan, "No."
"I want you to call me 'wifey' or 'baby'..." I requested.
"Not a chance," Aaron rejected firmly.
It felt like I was bantering with an AI, but honestly, I was loving every second of it.
"Aaron, you're seriously awesome. My brother totally tricked me when he said you were bad at this. Your fingers are so quick, and those pink knuckles? Absolutely adorable..." I praised.
If only those fingers could be inside me...
That last part stayed in my head. I wasn't about to say it out loud.
Aaron handled all my moves with effortless composure, keeping that polite distance the whole time.
As the stream was about to wrap up, I finally made my real wish. "Take me out to dinner?"
Aaron finally said, "Alright."
"Love you, baby." Feeling victorious, I blew him a kiss through the screen and ended the call.
The host was grinning, and the chat was going wild.
[Girl, you're like a sweet, soft strawberry cake. I don't know if Aaron's tempted, but honestly, I'm about to turn into a pile of mush from all this cuteness.], a comment read.
Another comment chimed in, [Didn't expect to get a whole live soap opera today. This is so entertaining, I can't believe it's The Ace's stream.]
[As an OG fan of Aaron, this is the first time I've ever seen a girl show up around him. Are Ms Pixie and him really not a thing? If nobody clears this up, I'm starting rumors myself.], a fan probed.
[Directness always wins over the reserved type. I'm calling it now. The Ace is totally gonna end up with Ms Pixie.], another comment read.
[No way, this girl goes to my college. She's a total party girl. Aaron and her are just not on the same wavelength. They're from completely different worlds.], a fan chimed in.
The day Aaron was taking me out to dinner, I was so excited I woke up at six.
For the dinner, I picked out the prettiest dress in my closet and matched it with my favorite pink bow.
I spent two hours on my 'no-makeup' makeup look.
I did a little twirl in front of my roommates. "How do I look?"
My roommate gave me a thumbs-up. "Total runaway Disney princess vibes."
Feeling super pleased with myself, I grabbed a cab and got to the restaurant forty minutes early, then ordered a solo meal.
That way, when Aaron showed up, I could just nibble a bit and say I was already full.
The steak smelled amazing, and I was busy chowing down when I vaguely heard someone call my name. I looked up to see Aaron watching me, a complicated look on his face.
Even in this awkward moment, I couldn't help sneaking a few glances at Aaron. He was just too good-looking.
He wasn't rocking his usual laid-back vibe today. Instead, he looked way more put-together.
His white shirt was buttoned all the way up, and he was wearing black dress pants. He was so modestly dressed that it was actually kinda hot.
I couldn't help but suspect Aaron had figured out I had a thing for uniforms and was dressing like this just to mess with me.
"The waiter brought this steak over. I said I didn't want it, but he wouldn't take no for an answer..." I tried to play it cool, even though I was totally busted.
Aaron just listened to my lame excuse, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk tugging at his lips.
The waiter came over and handed over the menu.
Aaron asked, "What else do you want to eat?"
I put on my best smile and said, "I'm already full. I don't eat much, so you can just order whatever you like, Aaron."
The waiter looked confused. "Miss, do you still want the large pasta you ordered with the steak?"
The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
In the end, Aaron just wrapped things up by ordering a few of the house specials.
After a few glasses of red wine, I was already feeling tipsy.
Feeling mischievous, I slid my foot up Aaron's pant leg, starting at his ankle and moving higher.
He moved away, but I just kept following with my foot, refusing to back down.
But this time, my foot hit something solid and unexpectedly firm.
Aaron looked up, his voice low and a little rough. "Lilly, quit it. My self-control isn't unlimited."
I froze for a second, feeling like Aaron was acting a bit different than usual, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.
Aaron patiently cut up a new steak and set it in front of me. "You're still growing, kiddo. Eat up."
That line struck a nerve in me. I wasn't trying to be his little sister here.
Fueled by liquid courage, I grabbed Aaron by the collar, pulled him down into my seat, and slid onto his lap, my voice dripping with sugary sweetness. "Baby, would a kid ever do this to you?"
"Get off, or I'll toss you out the window," Aaron warned, giving me a sharp smack just below my waist.
It wasn't hard, but the way he did it left me feeling oddly flustered and a little bit scandalized.
