The gossip spread like wildfire, and even my parents caught wind of it.

They sat me down, earnestly pleading, "You need to cut things off with Abbott as soon as possible."

No matter what they said, I just couldn't bring myself to care.

Before dawn the next day, I whipped up breakfast and rushed to the hospital.
