"Over there! Get it, quick." The second I heard the rescue team shouting, my whole body just gave out. I collapsed right there at my front door, all the tension draining from me.

There was a loud roar.

Robert's voice sounded. "Careful! Don't hurt it."

I could hear chaos outside—shouts, growls, thuds—and I just kept whispering to myself that everything would be over soon.

Ariadne picked this time to call. "Nicole, what the hell is going on over there? It sounds like a damn warzone. Are you okay?"
