Chapter 7

After Edward left, the dungeon fell silent again.

But something had changed. I could feel it.

For the first time in that darkness, I had a reason to hope.

I had no idea how Edward was going to win Agnes over.

Agnes had been with Rose for years, and she still carried weight in this pack. Richard trusted her like family.

She ran the manor's private stores, kept to herself most of the time, and never let her guard down.

A seven-year-old pup didn't stand a chance against someone like that.

But right now, all I could do was wait.
