Chapter 6

Grover quickly climbed out of the pool, grabbed Clarissa's hand, and tried to explain.

Grover said, "It's not like that. She suddenly cramped up, so I just went in to help her. That's all there was to it. Nothing else happened."

Clarissa suddenly realized she barely knew Grover at all.

The truth was staring her in the face, and yet he still tried to feed her such a blatant lie.

Clarissa said, "I see. She happened to swallow some water, so you were giving her mouth-to-mouth, right?"

Clarissa nodded. "I understand."

"You're not mad?" Grover asked.
