Chapter 1
When I returned in time to my university days, my roommate Kelsey Palmer handed me an ultrasound report. She said, "Denise, I'm pregnant with your boyfriend's baby."
This time, I didn't feel heartbroken, nor cry and make a scene. I smiled and said, "That's great. Congratulations."
Then I told my dad to cut off all financial support to my boyfriend, Jamie Tucker.
In this life, I was determined to get rid of the scumbag couple.

Kelsey came right up to me in the dorm and handed me the ultrasound report.
"Denise, I'm pregnant with your boyfriend's child," she said.
I didn't even bother to take it. I just glanced at the bottom of the report.
It said: [Early pregnancy, live fetus, six weeks and one day along.]
This time, I didn't shed a single tear, didn't make a scene.
I looked her in the eye and smiled. "Congrats to you both," I said.
Kelsey was stunned. She clearly hadn't expected me to react like that.
She stammered, "Y-you're not mad?"
I shook my head. "Not at all. That jerk? He's yours now."
Kelsey immediately fired back, her face twisted with anger, "Jamie is not a jerk. Just wait. I'm having this baby. And as soon as we graduate, Jamie and I will get married."
I nodded, playing along. "Sure, hope you two live happily ever after."
Kelsey let out a huff.
After Kelsey left the dorm, I called Jamie.
It took him forever to pick up.
"What do you want?" Jamie snapped, annoyed.
Honestly, I was just as sick of him. But some things needed to be made clear.
"Let's break up," I said.
There was a brief silence on the other end.
"Denise, are you making a fuss again?" Jamie said. "Seriously, you need to drop that spoiled rich girl act."
I replied coolly, "I'm not making a fuss. I'm serious."
I even repeated, "We're breaking up."
His breathing grew heavier on the other end. He said, "Fine, let's break up. Next time you come begging me to take you back, you better have a brand new iPhone for me."
I just smiled and hung up.
Then I shot a message to my dad. [Dad, I broke up with Jamie. Stop sending him money.]
He replied right away: [Got it, sweetheart.]
In my previous life, I was head over heels for Jamie.
We were in the same major but different classes, so we'd bump into each other during those big lectures everyone had to attend.
We started dating not long after we met. I was drawn to his sunny personality and his clean-cut, boy-next-door looks.
I was an only child, and my parents were entrepreneurs and locals.
Meanwhile, Jamie's family was struggling. He had to borrow money from relatives for tuition, was just scraping by with his living expenses, and had to work part-time in the campus cafeteria.
When I found out, I decided to ask my dad to support him financially.
After I told my dad about Jamie's situation and that we were together, he agreed immediately.
"It's just pocket change. I'll do it as long as you're happy," he said with a smile.
After that, Jamie quit his part-time job and started spending money like he was loaded.
I never really cared about money. Whenever I bought Jamie clothes, they were designer stuff. Moreover, the gifts I gave him were always the newest or the priciest.
I figured, if I was into him, he deserved the best I could give.
In my previous life, when I found out Kelsey was pregnant with Jamie's baby, it felt like my whole world had come crashing down.
I was a total mess. I made a big scene and cried like my heart was being ripped apart.
Jamie just shrugged it off at first. "Come on, it's just something most guys do. You're still the one I love."
But when I cried so hard I passed out and the dorm supervisor and some classmates had to drag me to the infirmary, that was when Jamie finally started to panic.
"Denise, we're not breaking up," Jamie pleaded, his voice trembling. "I'll make Kelsey have an abortion. I'll end things with her."
But that day, on her way to the clinic, Kelsey got into a car crash. Both she and the baby died.
Kelsey's family only cared about getting money from the driver, never even thought to blame the school.
Once I finally got my emotions under control, I thought about breaking up with Jamie. But he kept clinging to me, throwing sweet words left and right, and my hopelessly lovesick self caved in again. I ended up staying with him.
After graduation, we both started working at my family's company, and soon enough, we were planning our wedding.
Five years into our marriage, I got pregnant, and Jamie had just been promoted to management.
One day, while my parents were taking me to the hospital for a prenatal checkup, Jamie rammed his car into us.
My parents died instantly, and I was sprawled in a pool of blood, my belly in agonizing pain.
Jamie crouched down, his teeth clenched, voice dripping with hatred right in my ear.
"Denise, this is payback for what you did to Kelsey," he snarled. "Because of you, she died with her baby. Now you get to pay twice over."
Shock and realization hit me. So all this time, the one he truly loved was Kelsey.
In this life, Kelsey was still alive, and they still had their baby.
This time, the scumbag couple could get the hell out of my life with their spawn.
