Early the next morning, as soon as I got up, I spotted Dylan's busy figure in the kitchen.

When he saw me coming out of the bedroom, Dylan shot me a smile, perfectly angled, as if nothing had happened last night.

He said, "You're awake. I started making porridge for you first thing this morning. Try it. See if it tastes as it used to."
