After David left, I picked up the shredded fabric and stuffing and started stitching the doll back together.

My fingers ached from the dog bite. The room started spinning—my vision went fuzzy.

With my last bit of strength, I called 911.

The doctor said I was lucky that I got there in time. After a few days in the hospital, I got discharged, pale and exhausted.

My attorney delivered the divorce papers, but David kept declining my calls.

All my messages went ignored.

With no options left, I grabbed the papers and headed to his office for his signature.
