Benjamin gazed at me with such tenderness as if I were the only thing that mattered to him.

If I hadn't already figured him out, I might have gotten caught up in his web of lies again.

I took the flowers and lowered my head to smell them.

"Thank you, honey," I said.

Nikita egged us on from the sidelines, "Come on, kiss! Kiss!"

Benjamin stood up, wrapped his arm around my waist, and pressed a gentle kiss to my forehead. His lips were icy cold, like the touch of a venomous snake.
