We attended Grandway's proposal on Friday.

John, Emily, and I went together. Todd received us personally.

He shook my hand and said, "Ms. Parker, it's been a while." Then he glanced at John. "And who's this?"

"Mr. Warren, this is our Sales Director, Mr. Carter," I replied, making the introduction.

"Hello, Mr. Carter." Todd shook his hand, noticeably less warm.

I knew why. Because Todd had only ever dealt with me, and he had no idea who John was.

The pitch began. I presented the plan for 40 minutes. Todd listened closely the entire time.
