I looked into Rolf's eyes.

Those eyes used to be full of warmth and affection.

Now, something inside them felt broken. I could not explain it, but it left my chest feeling hollow.

"What if I lose my memory again?" I asked quietly.

Rolf paused and looked down instead of at me.

"It won't happen," he said softly. "Even if it does, you will only lose a few days. It doesn't matter. I'll make it up to you."
