Once Richard was sure none of the other parents or teachers could hear us, he lowered his voice.

"Honey, why didn't you give me a heads-up before coming over? You just showed up out of the blue," he said.

I was pissed. "Why do I have to give you a heads-up just to show up at my own daughter's summer camp?

"If I had warned you beforehand, would you have had time to hide the proof of how you hurt Serenity, so you could keep up your act as the perfect husband and dad, tricking everyone?"
