After work, I collapsed on the couch and sent a 60-second voice message venting to my best friend: [My husband is cheap and useless. He only gives me five thousand a month. I'm so jealous of you. Your husband does it three times a night and bought you a sports car.] When I came out of the shower, there was a screenshot of a black card transaction on my phone. Followed by a message from my husband, Edward:[The card is yours. No spending limit. [Also, I'll be home by ten tonight. I'll prove to you in person whether I'm 'useless' or not.] My brain exploded. I opened the chat and saw that my bitter, sixty-second voice message had been sent—in full—to Edward's chat. Even worse, he had replied three minutes earlier: [Got a meeting tonight. Don't wait up for dinner.] I panicked and considered moving to another planet. Before I could even pack, I heard the lock click. Edward who barely came home once a month—walked in, loosening his tie. He tossed an unlimited supplementary card and a set of car keys onto the table, then locked the bedroom door behind him. "One more thing... I heard you're jealous of your friend's husband."
