Chapter 1
I have the best mom in the world, Laurel Warner.
For twenty years, Laurel took care of me, cleaning up after me and tending to my every need, never once complaining.
To pay for my medical bills, she juggled three jobs, working herself to the point of coughing up blood, but she never cared about her own pain.
If it weren't for Laurel, I wouldn't even exist.
I loved her more than anything in this world.
So when Laurel messed up my dress while washing it, I stabbed her right in the heart with a pair of scissors.
I made sure she didn't feel a thing.

When the cops burst into my house, I was frantically stabbing Laurel's face with the scissors, tearing it apart in a frenzy.
Blood splattered all over me as I clenched my teeth in fury. "You ruined my dress. Die, you bitch!"
The cops swiftly snatched the scissors from my hands and slammed me to the floor.
"Behave yourself!" one of them barked.
I struggled desperately, my hatred still boiling over. With crazed fury, I clawed at Laurel's eyes, ripping them out with my bare hands.
Laughing maniacally, I shouted, "You bitch, just die already!"
About ten minutes ago, Laurel had whipped up a whole table of nutritious food for me.
Every dish was made exactly how the doctor ordered, so even with my diabetes, I could eat everything.
She was so busy that she didn't even have time to take a sip of water.
She hurried off to grab the laundry that had just finished drying.
My dear mother, even as she was dying, was still apologizing to me, guilt all over her face.
"My good girl, I accidentally messed up your dress. It's all my fault. Tomorrow, I'll buy you a new one, okay?" Laurel said, her voice full of regret.
My answer was a cold-blooded stab with the scissors.
I drove them straight into her chest, right through her heart.
Laurel's eyes widened in shock as she stared at me, her lips moving as if trying to call out, "My good girl..."
I stared at her coldly, showing not a hint of emotion, until all life drained from her eyes.
Soon, the cops hauled me away from the scene.
The neighbors had already packed the hallway, eager to watch the chaos unfold.
As soon as they heard I'd killed Laurel, every single one of them shot me furious, hateful looks.
"You beast! That's your mother. How could you be so heartless?" someone yelled.
"Ungrateful brat. Your mom gave up everything for you, and this is how you pay her back? She would've been better off raising a dog!" another shouted.
"Living next to someone like her is so unfortunate. Just shoot her dead already!" someone else chimed in.
But even that wasn't enough for them. Some of the neighbors, furious beyond reason, lunged at me, trying to beat me up.
The cops struggled to pull me out of the mob and shoved me into the police car.
In the interrogation room, I was handcuffed tightly to the chair.
Basil Fuller, the cop in charge, stared at me, stunned. "You killed your mom all because she ruined your dress?"
I scoffed coldly.
I spat, "What do you know?
"That wasn't just some ordinary dress. She ruined it, so of course, she had to die.
"Just killing her isn't enough. Let me out. I want to tear her apart and toss the pieces to the stray animals!"
I thrashed against the chair, desperate to break free.
Basil slammed his hand on the table, eyes blazing. "Cynthia Warner, sit your ass down.
"Don't think I'm falling for that crap. Just spit it out. Why'd you really kill your mom?
"We did our homework. You've been sick since you were a kid, and you couldn't even take care of yourself. Your dad ditched you ages ago, split with your mom, and vanished.
"For twenty years, Laurel never left you hanging. She worked three jobs just to keep you alive.
"Everyone says you and your mom were tight. No way you killed her over a dress!"
I just glared at Basil, full of contempt.
I wasn't about to cooperate with him.
I replied, "That's the truth. Believe it or not, whatever.
"I killed my mom, and I don't even want to live anymore. That's why I called the cops. Are you done with your questions? Just drag me out and shoot me already!"
Just then, the door to the interrogation room swung open.
A young cop walked in, frowning. "The victim is that famous 'Angel Mom' from the internet. This case is already trending online.
"There are dozens of reporters outside, all wanting to interview you."
