Chapter 5

I spent a week in the hospital before finally being discharged.

On the day I was discharged, James had a meeting at his company, so I told him he didn't need to come get me.

To my surprise, I ran into Henry and Claire again.

Henry was gently helping Claire into the elevator, being super attentive to her every step.

Back in my previous life, every time I had a doctor's appointment while pregnant, I went by myself.

Watching other moms-to-be with their husbands tagging along, I always felt a little jealous, wishing I had someone by my side, too.
