Chapter 3

My phone was still glowing, and reading that message made my hands shake.

There was no way to escape now. Pretending nothing happened was pointless.

I took a deep breath, and my hands shook so badly that I could hardly keep a grip on the phone.

I forced my head down, dodging every glance, especially from the head table, and poked at the screen, trying to act brave.

I texted back: [Mr. Hudson, I swear it was an accident. The glass moved on its own. Err, there's a tiny setback in the big task. No worries, I can handle it.]
