When I woke up again, I was in a hospital room.

Zane was asleep by my bedside, clutching my hand like I was his lifeline, afraid I'd disappear if he let go.

I tried to pull my hand back, but accidentally woke him up.

"Eva, you're awake? How are you feeling?" Zane asked, his eyes bloodshot, like he'd been up all night.
