Chapter 3

The next morning, Victor came home.

He walked in grinning, carrying a bag of bread. "I brought you breakfast from that bun shop you like."

He set the bread on the table and leaned in for a kiss.

I turned my head, and his lips brushed against my hair.

He didn't even notice and headed straight for the shower.

I opened the bag. It was graham bread.

I didn't eat graham bread.

Three years together, and he still had no clue.

I tossed the bread right into the trash.
