Chapter 4

Rex leaned very close, his cold breath brushing my cheek.

He whispered in my ear, his voice a dangerous but husky, "Tonight, I will show you ultimate dread, and then you will fall into oblivion."

After some very questionable processing, what I heard was, "Tonight, I'll drink some wine and go to sleep, and you'll sleep next to me."

I froze for several seconds.
