Chapter 4

I felt someone gently shaking me.

"You're awake? Emily, you scared me to death. Why did you suddenly come down with a high fever in the middle of the night?" Ryan asked.

I opened my eyes and could smell disinfectant in the air. I was in a hospital.

Ryan's face was right in front of me, his eyes were red, like he hadn't slept at all.

I looked at Ryan for what felt like ages.
