Chapter 2
"Lila," Silas called out, his voice rough. "Have you done here?"
I instinctively tried to close the door, but he blocked it with his hand.
He immediately squeezed inside, shut the door, and backed me into the corner of the entryway.
"Let go!" I struggled, yelling, "This is my place! You're trespassing!"
Silas ignored my words, only to stare at me. "Why didn't you answer my calls? Why did you block me? Why did you leave those papers?" he asked urgently.
"Because I want a divorce!" I yelled back. "Silas, are you deaf or something? I don't want to be with you anymore!"
The air seemed to freeze at that moment.
Silas's eyes widened, not believing his ears.
Suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed me wildly.
It wasn't a kiss but more like a bite.
It was laced with punishment and anger.
"Silas, you bastard!" I struggled.
I pushed him away and slapped him hard on the face.
A sharp sound of a slap echoed in the room.
Silas's head tilted to the side from the force.
He held that position for a few seconds, then slowly turned to look at me.
His gaze was like that of an abandoned large breed dog, which was pitiful but still dangerous.
"You want a divorce?" he clenched his teeth. "Is it because you like someone else? That pretty boy who dropped you off yesterday?"
I was speechless.
Pretty boy? That was just Nova's cousin, Jax White, giving us a ride yesterday.
"You were following me?" I asked in disbelief.
"You provoked me first." Silas grabbed my wrist with amazing strength, "Lila, you mentioned marriage, and now you want out? No way in hell. Unless I die."
Before I could react, he carried me over his shoulder and marched right out of the apartment.
"Silas, put me down! I'm calling the cops!" I shouted.
"Go ahead," he said, smacking my ass. "Cops won't give a damn about a married couple's quarrel."
So, Silas practically forced me back to his place.
It wasn't that cold, empty villa. He took me to an apartment I'd never seen before.
"Stay here for the next few days. Don't even think about leaving," he commanded.
He took my phone, locked the door, and shut me in.
Yeah, a captivity drama.
Silas looked busy. He just left me here and hurried out after answering a call.
I paced the apartment, furious, searching for any chance to get out.
But it was on the 28th floor. Unless I could fly, I was trapped here.
Tired of tossing, I collapsed onto the couch in the study.
On the desk, a computer was still on.
There was no password, and the screen stayed on some kind of blog. An account was still logged in.
I hadn't meant to peek, but the ID instantly attracted me. It read, "Wife Pursuer."
What an offbeat name!
I accidentally clicked on his post.
At this glance, my mind went crazy.
The latest post could be seen.
Wife Pursuer: [My wife wants a divorce. Oh my dear God! Did she figure out I've been secretly buying all the things she wants and think I'm too possessive? I just wanted to buy her stuff. How do I win her back?]
Posted just ten minutes ago.

Wife Pursuer: [I planned to surprise her for our anniversary. But my ex showed up, faking a broken leg and trying to scam me. I had to deal with her first so she wouldn't cause drama in front of my wife. Yet, my phone ran out of battery and shut off. When I got home, my wife disappeared, and all the food she'd made was in the trash. I fished it out and ate it. Her cooking is just that good. Where did she go? I'm losing my mind here.]

Wife Pursuer: [My wife glanced at me today, her eyes are so cold. Is she sick of me because I'm getting old? Should I get some hyaluronic acid? But come on, I'm only 28!]

Wife Pursuer: [The dark soup my wife made today looked like poison, but I still finished it. Didn't want to kill her vibe, so I acted as if I loved it. Now she says she's making it again tomorrow. My God! Should I start hoarding stomach meds?]
Another post was posted a year ago.
Wife Pursuer: [That bastard actually dares to court my wife! He should really take a look in the mirror before trying something like that. Tonight, I'm going home and kissing my wife all over, covering up any trace of that loser with my own scent!]
Then I saw the sticky post.
Wife Pursuer: [Been secretly in love with my goddess for seven years, and she finally pushed me into marriage! I'm the luckiest man alive! But I can't be too excited. I'm supposed to be the big boss, gotta play it cool and aloof, or she'll stop treasuring me. Gonna use this blog to record all our sweet daily life!]
I was shocked and speechless.
I rubbed my eyes again and again, just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.
I couldn't believe this account really belonged to Silas.
I only knew that he always wore that poker face, barely says a word, and gives everyone that icy stare.
I curiously clicked on the post about his ex trying to scam him with a fake injury.
Someone had replied. [OP, are you stupid? You skipped your anniversary and didn't even bother to explain? No wonder your wife ran away.]
