Chapter 3

Xander thought he had this in the bag.

He stalked off with a smug Seraphina on his arm, not even bothering to look back.

Leo watched them go, his face tight with worry. "Elara, are you okay?"

"I'm fine," I said, cutting him off.

I walked over to the window. Down by the Alpha's blacked-out SUV, Seraphina got on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to Xander's cheek.

He leaned into it, reaching up to stroke her hair.

"Leo, you should head back," I told him, shutting the window.

Leo sighed heavily and took off.

The cabin went dead quiet.
