Charlotte always came between Edward and me like a thorn.

Edward would never truly love me.

Realizing this, I breathed a sigh of relief.

Pretending not to see or hear anything every day was so exhausting.

A dull ache finally began to throb in my chest.

"Edward, I regret it," I said.

He froze. "I was the fool."
