I moved into an old apartment complex downtown with Jasper.

The apartment was rented, with two bedrooms and a living room. It wasn't big, but I made sure it was clean and cozy.

Jasper was very well-behaved. He didn't cry or fuss. He sat quietly on the couch, holding his Transformers toy.

Jasper looked up at me and asked, "Mom, are we going to live here from now on?"

I ruffled his hair gently and said, "Yes, from now on, this is home for you and me."
