Chapter 3
"You fool! Eric did this to you, and you stayed silent! Are you trying to scare us?" my mom snapped.
I gently squeezed her hand to reassure her.
My dad decided then, "Mia, don't worry. Your mom and I don't chase money or status. If you hadn't fallen for him, we wouldn't have let you get involved with him.
"Even if we lose everything, we'll make sure the Grant family, Allison Hayes, and anyone who hurt you pays!"
Tears welled up as I longed to tell my family everything.
This isn't the right time. Now that I've survived, I have to stay quiet.
Next, Eric and Allison face their hell.
Once recovered, I immediately organized the evidence of Eric's abuse and confinement.
And I kept every recording from Eric and Allison safe and ready to use.
I didn't expect the Grant Group to drop a bombshell.
Eric was about to marry Allison.
He wanted the wedding to make me look like a drama queen faking for attention.
Let me give these lovebirds a wedding gift they'll never forget.
With my family protecting me, online insults and rumors didn't faze me.
I didn't let any of it get to me.
My dad organized and made public all old marriage alliance documents between our families.
He announced online that Bennett Group and Grant Group of Axia City severed all ties.
Anyone siding with the Grants declares war on our family.
Despite our frozen families, Eric planned a grand wedding for Allison, his first love.
He seemed to deliberately broadcast every moment of the ceremony online for all to see.
But none of it mattered. After he slapped me, it was over—no turning back.
As Allison walked down the aisle in her Royceway dress toward her dreams, I began my plan.
I hacked the wedding screen and played a shocking video.
The footage showed a woman smoking with shady men who soon all ended up in bed together.
Everyone knew who the star of that video was.
Eric's face twisted in fury, veins bulging, eyes burning with rage.
His hand suddenly choked Allison's neck.
"You said you were innocent? This is what you were doing behind my back overseas?!" he yelled.
"Eric, it's not what you think. It's Mia! She is a computer genius, faked it to frame me!" she pleaded, shaking.
Eric relaxed his grip, still suspicious, but the wedding was a mess.
To make the scandal more explosive, I ensured the video was HD and fully uncensored.
The paparazzi screamed and snapped photos as the backstage crew frantically tried to shut down the stubborn screen.
Rubbing my tired eyes, I muttered, "Enjoy the chaos, Eric."
Allison's HD video was instantly trending online.
I made her the undisputed scandal queen—the star of the show.
This was just the start. Eric didn't know what I planned next.
He rushed home, angry to confront me, only to find I was already gone.
To really push him over the edge, I thoughtfully gave him a call.
"Who is this?" Eric snapped irritably.
I calmly said, "I didn't fake the video. Allison's scandals are just beginning—there's more to come."
His voice turned wary. "What do you mean? Who are you?"
After over ten days of abuse, my voice was raspy and creepy.
I ignored him and continued, "Allison made interesting friends abroad who likely know what she did."
I hung up, knowing Eric was always suspicious and never trusted anyone.
Once doubt was planted, it spiraled out of control.
Sending them to prison would be too easy. That's not enough.
I wanted them to turn on each other like wild animals and Eric begging for forgiveness, making up for every year I lost because of him.
