Chapter 4

Ryan and Chloe were chatting away at the door.

I stayed composed as the designer measured my finger size. She was about to introduce another batch of raw gemstones.

I shook my head with a polite smile. "Sorry, something just came up," I said. "You can just ask my boyfriend later. Let him decide."

With that, I grabbed my bag and made my way to the door.

Ryan instinctively positioned himself in front of Chloe, turning to Chloe behind him and explaining, "Don't get the wrong idea. We're just looking around. Nothing's set in stone yet."

He seemed genuinely afraid…
