The Grandview Hotel's largest ballroom was packed with cameras and reporters.

As I walked onto the stage, the room fell silent. Only the sound of camera shutters filled the air. Jack followed close behind me, placing a stack of documents on the podium.

"Thank you all for coming," I said into the microphone, my voice so steady that even I was surprised by how calm I sounded. "I'm Charlotte, Richard's wife, or, more accurately, soon-to-be ex-wife."
