The day before my thesis deadline, I left the library but forgot my computer. When I went back, my girlfriend's childhood friend Alex was sitting in my spot. He smiled awkwardly. "Oops, you might not graduate. I accidentally deleted your final draft." Sunny stepped in front of him, dead serious. "He didn't mean it. He never went to college. Don't blame him. He already feels bad." Time was ticking. I asked her calmly, "Are you sure you don't want me to hold him accountable?" Sunny's face darkened. "What's there to hold accountable? Just one year delayed. More campus life—you're lucky, actually. Why are you making that face?" Her voice got louder. People were staring. She lowered her voice and said, "Alex has a bad heart. He can't take stress. Fine. When you graduate, I'll marry you. Deal?" I looked at Alex smirking at me. It was almost funny. Sunny forgot something. Two days ago, she asked me to fix her supervisor's notes. I was logged into her account. I was editing her thesis. She didn't realize Alex never checked the name or student ID. My thesis was already submitted. Less than 12 hours left. I can't wait to see her face when she finds out it was her draft that got deleted.
