Synopsis

At my daughter Ellie’s school tree project, Caleb writes DAD on Milo’s leaf while Ellie holds the blank one he promised to sign. He tells me, “Ellie can wait. Milo can’t.” Nora keeps calling her son fatherless, and Caleb keeps giving him every place that should belong to Ellie: her card, her stage slot, even the story at my own charity gala.
