Graham's POV

I pulled into the driveway at exactly 6:30 PM.

I had promised Mara I wouldn't be late today. October was always her hardest month. I grabbed the takeout bags from her favorite French bistro from the passenger seat, hoping the food would at least get her to eat something.

I unlocked the front door. "Mara? I brought dinner."

The house was completely dark.

In the center of the marble island, lit by the glow from the street outside, lay a printed photograph. A velvet jewelry box rested over one corner, and beside it sat her diamond wedding ring.
