I met Margaret Lawson the next morning.

She didn't come to the hospital carrying sympathy.

She came carrying a legal pad.

After introducing herself, she sat across from me, opened a folder, and asked the first question.

"Mrs. Stone, are you certain this isn't a decision made in grief?"
