Jacob saw how stiff my expression was and realized I was genuinely pissed off.

He finally softened his attitude and reached out to take my hand.

He whispered, "Come on, whatever it is, let's talk about it at home, behind closed doors. Don't argue with me out here. Just let me go check on your dad."

I shook my head and said, "I'll take you, but the others aren't coming with us."

I don't want my dad to be upset by those scumbags, not even for a second.
