Chapter 5

My heart skipped a beat. I didn't even have time to think; I just grabbed my cane and rushed out the door.

I hurried to the hospital, bracing myself for the worst, but it wasn't the disaster I'd pictured.

Neil was sitting outside the emergency room, looking pretty much okay, just a couple of scrapes on him.

As soon as Neil saw me, he came straight over and grabbed my hand.

He said, "Brianna is seriously injured. She needs a blood transfusion. The nurse said they were running out of blood here. I need you to donate."

His command landed…
