When I opened my eyes again, I was in a hospital.

Maybe because someone in the Farrell residence still had a conscience or something, they didn't let me die in that fire.

But Melanie's baby still "didn't make it."

Naturally, the blame fell on me.

It didn't matter. If you owed someone a hundred dollars, it was your problem. If you owed someone a hundred thousand, it was theirs.

At least I had already left the Farrell residence. Now all I had to do was figure out how to get away.
